Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between this UV resin and standard epoxy resin?
Traditional epoxy resin requires mixing a separate resin and hardener together, taking 24 to 48 hours to fully cure. Kisrel UV Resin is a single-part formula that requires absolutely no mixing or measuring! It stays liquid until it is exposed to a UV light source, curing solid in just a few minutes.
Do I need a special lamp to cure this resin, or can it dry on its own?
Because this is a UV-activated formula, it will not air-dry on its own. It requires a UV crafting lamp (a 36W lamp or higher is highly recommended) or exposure to direct outdoor sunlight to trigger the curing process and turn the liquid into a hard solid.
How long does it take for the resin to cure completely?
Under a standard 36W UV lamp, small charms or domed surfaces typically cure hard in 2 to 4 minutes. If you are curing your projects using direct outdoor sunlight, it can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes depending on the intensity of the sun.
Is this resin the 'hard' type or the 'soft/flexible' type?
This is the premium hard-type resin formulation. Once it is completely cured under a UV light source, it sets into a highly rigid, tough, solid, and scratch-resistant finish that feels like smooth glass.
